Del Laverdure is an enrolled citizen of the Crow Nation, a member of the Ties the Bundle Clan, and a descendant of the Little Shell Band of Chippewa Indians.  Del is an active participant in indigenous and intergenerational ceremonies including sweat lodge, vision quest, sundance, smudging, giveaways, spiritual naming, public speaking, tobacco pipe, animal and plant medicine, honoring sacred sites, medicine wheel, spiritual offerings, four elements and four directions.  As an indigenous person that lives in his community of origin, Del’s experience and work is born out of his lifelong relationships with indigenous families, communities, and governments and his commitment to help facilitate healing from intergenerational trauma.  

 

Del has also received trauma informed trainings, certifications, and then assisted and provided the healing content and processes of those modalities to indigenous communities and their allies in various trauma informed trainings and workshops throughout North America.  Del is a Certified IFS Practitioner, has been a program assistant for two IFS Institute Level 1 Trainings (including the first ever IFS indigenous participant training in Ontario, CA), completed his IFS Institute Level 1 Training, received his Applied IFS Therapy Program Certificates, and completed the Somatic IFS Certificate Program.  Del received his Somatic Experiencing Practitioner Certification and has been a SE training assistant. He is an ICF associate certified holistic and global coach.

 

Over his lifetime, Del has served many indigenous nations and communities in a wide variety of capacities including testifying and advocating for legislation in Congress, guiding indigenous communities through federal agencies to obtain much needed resources in the U.S., and teaching and navigating intergovernmental relations at all levels on a wide spectrum of issues.  Del has served as legal counsel for over 27 years, served a U.S. presidential appointment from 2009-2012, held numerous tribal judgeships, and was an assistant professor of law.  Del earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1995 and his Juris Doctor in 1999.
